I have had quite a few applications for the post - so by the end of the week I will create a cut-off. Got back home at Midnight last night. I had caught the train to London in the morning - had some lunch and them made my way to Buckingham Palace for the last ever national board meeting of the NSPCC Full Stop Appeal. Five years - and now it was the last meeting. As a team we had done what we set out to do - raise £250 million to change the UK for children - to help stop cruelty - do so much. We had done it - the largest amount of money ever raised in a single campaign in the history of UK fundraising. The IT system has finally ground into action and revealed the responses to my blogs that were hidden in a weird account - so a belated thank you to all who have been in touch.

I have had an enourmous response to the C4 prog Secret Millionaire. The general feeling is that people were inspired by the programme and that they shed a few tears. Some saying it was the best TV they had seen in an age. Thank you.

Yesterday I attended a reception at Buckingham Palace hosted by the Queen, Princess Anne, Camilla and Sophie.

It was a gathering of 200 Women in Business - a great event. I met everyone - and the Queen was smart, intelligent and working hard! Making us all feel very welcome. We spent some time in several state rooms, chatting, having a drink and canapes. It was very inspiring to be surrounded by so many successful women - if only I had had the chance to hear all their stories.
