Just thought i would tell all of my lovely weekend.
What happened? Nothing. What did i do? nothing special. What did i watch on tv? nothing.
All my 4 kids have finished school for the holidays - and for one precious weekend I spotted that my diary did not have any fixed appointments - there were no lunches, school sportsdays, weddings, mates having a drink, no taxi rides needed to get the kids to parties - nothing.
It was a weekend without plans.
It was wonderful - jim, i and our gang of four spent time together. Just us. We had lazy lunches and teas. We cooked together and sat around the table talking and laughing. The sun shone so we took our pudding and picnicked on the lawn. Romping and playing with the dog.
We ended the day with game of scrabble - ( we play two teams and access to as many dictionarys as you need to prove any ridiculous word you can come up with). We also play that each team must help the other - but somehow my team always wins!
I think I will always remember my dream weekend - a weekend in which nothing big happened.
A thought - when planning your time - leave space for nothing to happen. The nothing happened moments might be your best moments!
