Sunday 20th January 2008, 00:58Thanks to the OLASS team.Whenever I set out to develop a new international market for A4e it is always on the back of great work in the UK. This week our journeys took us to South Africa where we have the chance to deliver a ground breaking project in Kwazulu Natal.

Our invitation to undertake this work has come due to the hard work and energy of all our staff in the UK engaged in delivering our OLASS contracts. Your passion for the vision of Improving Peoples Lives and your commitment to transforming the lives of the inmates where we work has earned us this opportunity.

Thank you to David Jackson who has held this candle for so long and shed light on these opportunities in the UK long before the rest of us caught up. Thanks to the development team for the way in which you expressed our vision to work in this sector securing a role for A4e. Thank you to Simon and his team who toil day in day out trying to make our services a life changing experience.

Thanks also to the prison staff and governors where we work who have supported our efforts and encouraged us to be creative and develop new approaches to this area of their work. Finally thanks to the inmates who have chosen to walk with us down this road of education and skills development hopefully towards a new life when they return to their communities and families.

It is a great privilege for me to be able to stand on the shoulders of the work you do to take this aspect of our work overseas.

Thanks

Roy
