Sunday 17th December 2006, 23:31FranceOn Thursday I was able to visit our French team who are busy preparing for the start of our first contract in France. We are opening two units in Paris and have been greatly supported by David Bailey, Sam Tidy and Claire Harrison. Also we could not have got off to such a wonderful start without Jean-Baptiste Sassolas and Jacques Finetti – many thanks!
I know we have yet to decide how best to translate the words of Improving People’s Lives into French but the good things is that the new team of staff already understand the vision and are as excited as we are about this new venture.
I was very impressed with the large new premises and the quality of the new staff. This is a very important project as we want to build a long term business and branch out into other geographical areas and also seek to develop a broader base of business that our programmes to support unemployed people. However, as ever, we need to walk before we run. We have a lot to prove and on the 3rd January 2007 our first new clients walk through the door and we have to be able to give them our best service. I had the pleasure of meeting the Mayor for the part of the city we are working in and it was clear to see the passion and energy he has for his city.
It would be great to hear from any French employers who want to work with A4e in delivering these services to unemployed people and I would welcome the chance to explain our service over the next few weeks Back to posts by Roy NeweyContact Roy Newey
